2006 Event Rules & Guidelines

Fires - Fires are allowed only in designated areas.

Parking and Site Transportation - Private vehicles are allowed only in designated parking area. You will not be able to bring your vehicle to the event/bivouac site. Period transportation will transport your and your equipment to the event/bivouac site.

Utilities - Water is available, bring your period containers. Electricity is available at the mess hall and bathroom/shower facilities, but not at the bivouac site, plan accordingly. Surprisingly, field toilets will not be allowed, you must use the bathroom facilities. Trash collection will be located with the Kantine.

Shopping and Other Amenities - Grocery, Drug, Liquor and Hardware Stores, Restaurants, ATMs, Gas Stations are all located approximately 6 miles east of the location, at the Columbus/Brown County Interstate 65 Exit 68.. Please remember the exit and entry to the site will be very limited after 1400 CST on Friday afternoon.

Authenticity - For the enjoyment of all participants, the Authenticity and Safety Inspection will occur in the designated parking area prior to entering the event/bivouac site. Non-period items will not be allowed in the event/bivouac site.

General Safety - For the enjoyment of all participants, the Authenticity and Safety Inspection will occur in the designated parking area prior to entering the event/bivouac site. No live ammunition is permitted on the event/bivouac site.

Weapons and Live Fire Safety - Detailed safety requirements for the live ammunition and weapons will be published in the near future. We do know at this time that you will be required to send all live ammunition to be used to the event organizers at least two weeks prior to the event. You will not be able to bring live ammunition to the base in your vehicle, nor use it at the live fire site. No live ammunition is permitted on the event/bivouac site. Remember, this is an U.S. military facility, beside their lack of humor about these rules, you will also be subject to U.S. federal law.

Age - All participants must be 18 years old or older.

Clean-Up - Each unit will be responsible for returning their designated event/bivouac area prior to being released from the event.

Medical Emergencies - There will be a medic on site, and emergency medical services on the base, other medical facilities are available in Columbus, IN, approximately 6 miles away. If you have an existing medical condition, for example, diabetes, extreme reaction to bee stings, etc., please contact the medic on arrival.
