Fallschirmjäger-Lehrkompanie
Normandie 1944

2006 Geländeübungen
(Field Training Exercises
)

Each training exercise will have a Richter (Umpire) who will help prepare your squad to conduct the field training exercise, and insure that your squad follows period German tactics. The object is to operate in the field as a Fallschirmjägergruppe would have.

Because of this, we are encouraging and it is our goal, for each squad to come armed as a period Fallschirmjägergruppe or Fallschirmpioniergruppe, to include the correct Weapons and other ordinance like Mörser, Granaten, geballte Ladung, Panzerschreck, Panzerfäuste, usw, and Ammo Boxes, Barrel Cases, Grenade Bags…as real Fallschirmjäger.

Each squad should have a squad machine gun, MG34/42. Please contact the event organizers if your unit has an extra MG34/42 or know someone who has for the event.

The typical Fallschirmjägergruppe would be armed as follows:

Gruppenführer - MP38/40 / FG42 / G43 / MP44, Pistole (rarely K98k)
Truppführer - K98k, optional MP38/40 / FG42 / G43 / MP44, Pistole
Nr. 1 MG-Schütze - MG34/42, Pistole

Nr. 2 u. 3 MG-Schütze und andere Fallschirmjäger - K98k, optional MP38/40 / FG42 / G43 / MP44, Pistole

Fallschirmpioniergruppe were normally more heavily armed than most Fallschirmjägergruppe, with a larger proportion of automatic weapons and ordinance.
